Grizzlies Injury Report update
Brandon Clarke, a forward/center for the Memphis Grizzlies, is nearing his season debut.
The Grizzlies marked Clarke as doubtful for the upcoming game against the Denver Nuggets on Monday because of his recent left Achilles tendon surgery. This is the first instance this season where he has been listed as anything other than out, indicating that it’s improbable he will participate in Monday’s match.
Clarke injured his left Achilles on March 3, 2023, during a game against the Nuggets. He has undergone intensive rehabilitation since then.
The Grizzlies, no longer in playoff contention, faced a decision on whether to bench Clarke for the rest of the season or keep playing him. Both General Manager Zach Kleiman and Coach Taylor Jenkins have expressed their desire for Clarke to gain more experience this season.
Clarke is still managing an Achilles injury and will probably not be able to play on Monday. However, it is a positive sign that he is considered doubtful for the game against the Nuggets instead of being ruled out right away. It is unclear if the Grizzlies will re-sign him before the regular season concludes.
