Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are currently embroiled in a heated dispute concerning the French winery they previously co-owned. Recent legal filings claim that Pitt had a record of physically abusing Jolie before their notable plane incident in 2016, sparking renewed tensions between the two parties.

Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie in 2022, alleging that she violated their contractual agreement by selling her share of Château Miraval without informing him. In response, Jolie’s legal team argued that negotiations over the sale of her ownership stake fell apart when Pitt insisted on a nondisclosure agreement that would prevent her from discussing his alleged physical and emotional abuse of her and their children outside of a courtroom.

Jolie’s legal team has filed a new motion requesting the release of communications that they argue demonstrate Pitt’s refusal to permit Jolie to sell her winery share to him without her agreeing to a “more onerous” and “expansive” nondisclosure agreement.

The filing states that Pitt began physically abusing Jolie before their September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles. It adds that during this flight, he also directed physical abuse towards the children for the first time, prompting Jolie to leave him right away.

Pitt’s, aged 60, attorneys submitted a court motion on April 5, requesting that Jolie, aged 48, provide the nondisclosure agreements she has required others to sign.

The court has been requested to cancel the Jolie-Stoli agreement, leading to the disputed shares being held in escrow while an external party examines the debts.

A senior Stoli executive previously stated that they have no knowledge of any problems associated with their acquisition of 50% of Miraval, and they have no worries. It is common for properties to be sold for $1 regularly.

As per information from Quora, selling a property for $1 commonly symbolizes a transfer of ownership, often within a family. This transaction is usually viewed as a gift, serving as a gift for tax purposes.

A source close to Pitt and Jolie mentioned that her team was puzzled by his 1 euro legal strategy, questioning whether they had even bothered to pay it and deeming it irrelevant.

According to a source, in the United States, individuals frequently engage in selling items for one dollar, although no one actually follows through with the payment. The transaction is not taken seriously. This occurrence took place prior to their marriage and symbolized their unity as a family.
